  3. Ever had your sound vanish on a IIsi? Is it a system bug?
  4. A third-party software bug?Will Apple ever give the definitive
  5. answer? Will they FIX it? Who knows?

  7. Anyway, have you noticed that opening up the Sound control
  8. panel and altering the volume and then setting it back again
  9. restores your sound? Hows does Sound get it back?

  11. Enter Macsbug...

  13. Result: Reset Sound FKEY! I won't promise that this will get
  14. your sound back, or that the disassembling Sound to find out
  15. how to write this FKEY won't annoy Apple, but on my IIsi it
  16. does restore the sound...

  18. Use: install on your Mac with ResEdit/SuitCase II/MasterJuggler.
  19. When your sound goes keep hitting command-shift-0 until the
  20. system beeps at you (its sometimes takes more than one go),
  21. and Voila! your sound is back - well it is on my IIsi, no promises
  22. on yours but it shouldn't do any harm (though I supply no warranty
  23. to that effect, after all you might live in the USA...)
