- Reset Sound FKEY by Nigel Perry, N.Perry@massey.ac.nz
-
- Ever had your sound vanish on a IIsi? Is it a system bug?
- A third-party software bug? Will Apple ever give the definitive
- answer? Will they FIX it? Who knows?
-
- Anyway, have you noticed that opening up the Sound control
- panel and altering the volume and then setting it back again
- restores your sound? Hows does Sound get it back?
-
- Enter Macsbug...
-
- Result: Reset Sound FKEY! I won't promise that this will get
- your sound back, or that the disassembling Sound to find out
- how to write this FKEY won't annoy Apple, but on my IIsi it
- does restore the sound...
-
- Use: install on your Mac with ResEdit/SuitCase II/MasterJuggler.
- When your sound goes keep hitting command-shift-0 until the
- system beeps at you (its sometimes takes more than one go),
- and Voila! your sound is back - well it is on my IIsi, no promises
- on yours but it shouldn't do any harm (though I supply no warranty
- to that effect, after all you might live in the USA...)
-
- Supplied totally free as a service to all us frustrated IIsi owners.
- Only tested on a IIsi running system 7.0.1. If you really want to pay
- for it, send me a postcard of your home town/area.
